Our impact

At Nos Caminho, we believe tourism should strengthen the places it touches—not exploit them. That’s why we’ve built a fair-wage, community-driven tourism model in Santo Antão, Cabo Verde that puts local people first.

Every tour you book directly supports local guides, families, and small businesses, helping create long-term economic stability on the island.

Our Fair-Wage Model

Unlike many tour operators, we do not pay a flat, low rate regardless of group size. We’ve intentionally built a different approach—one rooted in respect, transparency, and shared success.

Our commitments include:

  • Minimum €100 guaranteed per guide, per tour

  • Profit-sharing on all group hikes

  • Bonus compensation for larger groups

  • Clear, transparent, and ethical pay practices

  • A long-term commitment to responsible tourism in Santo Antão

Most agencies pay guides between €50–€80, often without regard for group size or workload. We believe local knowledge, experience, and leadership deserve better.

Let’s talk about your trip
